Interview Q/A

Q1. Bernoulli equation application

▶️pumps, flying of aeroplane, velocity calculation of plane, etc.

Q 2 . How pitot tube work

▶️ Pitot tube is based on Bernoulli equation it convert kinnetic head into potential head and then gave velocity of fluid by measuring potential head.

Q 3. Dittus-boelter equation

▶️0. 0028Re^0.8(pr^n)

Q 4. Nusselt number

▶️-its ratio of convective to conductive heat

Q 5 Type of pump

▶️Centrifugal pump, positive Dispalcment pump(reciproting pump, rotary pump )

Q. 6. Cavitation

▶️ when pressure inside the pump become less than vapous pressure of liquid liquid start boiling and formed vapor and bubble which than collide with pump wall and cause significant damage

Q 7. Npsha and npshr

▶️ Npsha is npsh available and npshr is npsh required npshr Is given by the manufacturers of pump npsha should be more than npshr to avoid cavitation

Q 8.haiguen Poiseuille equation

▶️ it’s used to find total head loss due to friction in pipe for proper laminar flow.

Q 9. What is primming and is it need to be done in positive displacement pump

▶️ Priming is the process of removing air from the pump and suction line to permit atmospheric pressure and flooding pressure to cause liquid to flow into the pump. Without priming, pumps will cease to function and break down.

There is no need to do primming to displacement pump because most of the displacement pump are self primming.

Q 10. BEP

▶️BEP is best efficiency point flow at which the pump operate at highest Or optimum efficiency
