Interview Q/A

Q1 introduce yourself

Q2 which is your favorite subject

Q3 what is cavitation & how to avoid it?

▶️If suction pressure is only slightly greater than vapour pressure, some liquid may flash to vapour inside the pump which reduces pump capacity greatly. This is called cavitation

To avoid it, pressure at pump inlet may exceed vapour pressure by a certain value, i.e., net positive suction head.

Q4 assumptions of Bernoulli equation & significance  of Bernoulli equation .

▶️1 the flow should be steady

2the flow should be irrotational

3the fluid should be ideal

▶️It can be applied to many everyday situations. For example, it explains why airplane wings are curved along the top and why ships have to steer away from each other as they pass.

This is also used to design pumps and various flow meters.

Q6)what is NPSH

▶️NPSH is  the minimum required pressure at the suction side of a pump. Low pressure at the suction side of the pump may reduce the efficiency of discharge pressure.

Q7 does temperature effect it

▶️Yes it is effected by temperature as it decreases with increasing temperature.

Q8 what is conduction

▶️It is mode of heat transfer where heat is transferred by collision between particles of material

Q9 is it possible in all metals

▶️Yes it is possible in all types of metals but is slower in liquids and gases as the molecules in them are father apart and hence less no. Of collisions.

Q10 haigen poisellui equation result

∆P= 32.L.μ.v/D^2
